I have learned how to make coding engaging for middle school students and incorporate interesting teaching strategies.
I learned 5 strategies to help students be successful debuggers:
- Organized Code (1 code per line)
- Looking back at examples in the Maps bubbles
- Modeling for students
- Teaching students where to find resources
- Use activities to demonstrate debugging
Unit 1 and 2 are new to me so the first few days have been full of information!
At CS Discoveries 5-Day Summer Workshop, I learned more about HTML tags and debugging. I am looking forward to using these with my students!
During the 5-day Summer Workshop, I learned more about different instructional strategies and I now have a better understanding of the strengths for each strategy in relation to student learning.
I learned more about CSS. I havenāt used these lessons with my kids; yet, I canāt wait to reference to html as a skeleton, and the CSS as clothes⦠You can plan so many fun activities around this idea. The science skeleton may, or many not, go missing.

See? I formatted this with my new-found tags!
I can make a paragraph too!
Thank you for integrating digital citizenship into the coding lessons! For so many years I have taught both as separate units, but they are better together.
This has been a wonderful learning experience for me, so much fun too!
loved the training. Will use paired programming.
